Doug Arrand spent 33 years as an educator in Secondary schools in Ontario. During most of those years he was a guidance counsellor providing educational, career and personal counseling to both students and families.
He gained great insight and new skills through cooperating with agencies such as family court, Children's Aid, hospital social workers and many other agencies who were involved in assisting his clients and their family with a myriad of health, psychological, economic and personal conflicts that were negatively affecting such individuals.
He served as Department Head of Counselling Services for Continuing Education schools for adults. He and his staff provided educational, career and personal counselling to adult students.
Doug has always taken an active role in community service and has taken on leadership roles in both professional associations and community. These affiliations include the Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation, Guidance Counsellors Associations, Church, Boy Scouts of Canada, Educational Scholarship Foundation, Homeowners Association, Children's Aid Society, etc. In many of these organizations he has been called on to practice mediation or facilitation skills to ensure the organization and its principals function harmoniously and effectively.
Doug is a life long learner and upon taking early retirement from his teaching/counselling career, enrolled in the Mediation and Conflict Resolution Program offered at the Mediation Center of Southeastern Ontario. Together with his extensive counselling experience he is confident that he can provide effective mediation skills to assist his clients.
Doug is delighted to join with other professionals of the Moe Royer Group. Together, the MRG team will effectively assist clients to resolve both personal and group conflict wherever it occurs at home or on the job.
